Labor, slavery and freedom in factories from the 18th and 19th centuries Brazil

The article talks about the relationships between the slaves labors and the free ones in factories establishments on the nineteenth century. Slave labor was present in every function in the slavery society after the independency time, and even on the smallest manufacturing activities the participation of the slaves was often. Slaves and freemans were employed in factories that, despite of the agrarian and exporter structure economy they kept one important production in the nineteenth century. Thereover, there are discussions about the existence of factories in one slavery society, avoiding, however, dichotomous approachings. Moreover, was searched thought about the slaves labors experience of life inside these establishments, showing strategies of resistance, fights for better life conditions, access to freedom and the built of solidarity ties. Different socioeconomic regionally realities marked these experiences that are notable the conflict between “civilization” and the institutional violence of the slavery on the newborn nation.
