In the early 20th century, some agricultural machinery was already in use in Brazilian fields, but the national agricultural machinery industry only began in 1956. Over time, the agricultural machinery industry was affected by various macroeconomic, industrial, and agricultural policies. This study aims to identify the cycles of Brazil's agricultural machinery industry and analyze how policies shaped its development. The methodology utilized secondary data to construct graphs and tables that synthesize the identified cycles. The article identified four development cycles: the pre-industrial cycle, the golden cycle (1956-1980), the sectoral crisis cycle (1980-2000), and the recent productive restructuring cycle (2000-2012).
