Abstract

The following article seeks to discuss the emergence and trajectory of neoliberal ideas in the context of Western Europe and the United States. The objective is to analyze the fundamental bases of their ideas and how they were transformed into a “collective of thought” that proposes a way of interpreting the world and its economic relations. Starting with the genesis of neoliberalism, between the 1920s and 1930s, we propose an interpretation of how a certain synthesis was produced focused on the notion of the market as the fundamental institution for the organization of social life.
